Graduate Research Assistant Openings (MS/ PhD) Fall 2026 

Structural Dynamics and Acoustic Systems Laboratory at The University of Massachusetts is hiring PhD/MS Students to start in Fall 2026 (Spring 2027 may be possible) and work on the research topics below:

i. Acoustics-based Damage Detection from Operational Wind Turbine Blades (Algorithm Development, Data Analysis, Field Implementation and Testing) - (Keywords: Acoustics; Signal Processing; Machine Learning; Wind Energy; Testing; Sensors)

ii. Computational Fluid Dynamics and Aero-Acoustics (CAA) for Flow-field Modeling and Structural Health Monitoring - (Keywords: Ansys Fluent, COMSOL CFD or similar; Coding - MATLAB/Python; Signal Processing; Flow-field measurement and Characterization; Wind Tunnel; Sensor Placement Optimization)
